Our Mission

The mission of the Florida Policy Exchange Center on Aging is to provide timely, high-quality research and policy analysis to public officials, program administrators, and other stakeholders concerned with Florida鈥檚 aging population; specifically assessing the health and well-being of older adults. As part of the School of Aging Studies at the 百媚导航, it brings together faculty and students on projects that promote age-friendly principles, engage the community and further the research and education mission of 百媚导航.

News

  1. Lindsay Peterson, PhD, research assistant professor in the School of Aging Studies, and undergraduate students Coral Morley and Arianna Verdecia recently created a disaster preparedness website for First Contact (formerly 211 Tampa Bay Cares), with funding from the state of Florida.

  2. Lindsay Peterson, PhD, and Debra Dobbs, PhD, of the 百媚导航 School of Aging Studies, collaborated with Senior Connection Center to produce a sweeping review of the needs of older adults (age 65 +) in the center鈥檚 five-county service area. The synthesis of demographic and key informant data will guide planning for this burgeoning west-central Florida region with nearly 600,000 older adults.
