Internship Opportunity
The Im/migrant Well-Being Research Center (IWRC) offers for-credit internship opportunities for °ÙÃĵ¼º½ students interested in community-engaged work supporting displaced populations across Florida. In partnership with local organizations, students gain hands-on experience in outreach, advocacy, and research aimed at improving well-being and social integration.
For the Fall 2025–Spring 2026 academic year, we are offering two internship tracks.
Lutheran Services Florida (LSF)
Community Outreach and Administrative Support (see flyer)
Interns will assist with community outreach and administrative coordination at LSF, a statewide service organization supporting displaced individuals and families. Responsibilities include helping build sustainable partnerships, coordinating donations, and supporting orientation and resource events.
- Location: St. Petersburg office (in-person or hybrid)
- Time commitment: Flexible; 1–6 credit hours

- Nonprofit program operations
- Outreach and partnership development
Tampa Bay Refugee Task Force (TBRTF)
Community Engagement and Research (see flyer)
This hybrid, two-semester internship offers students the opportunity to collaborate with organizations and leaders who work with newly arrived populations in Tampa Bay. Interns will contribute to event coordination, awareness campaigns, and research projects related to youth, mentoring, and best practices in resettlement programming.

- Supporting newly arrived individuals and families
NEW! Grant Writing Component
All interns will take part in a short introductory grant writing seminar led by IWRC staff. This training will prepare students to contribute to a grant proposal in collaboration with their host organization, enhancing their professional skills and helping partners secure needed funding.
