Dual Enrollment Requirements and Deadlines

initial eligibility

Who should request the dual enrollment articulation agreement (DEAA)? 

  • The public school district leadership (not the counselor)
  • Head of the Independent charter school
  • Head of private school, or homeschool/PEP parent

Students and Parents: Ask your school district, charter or private school to verify they have a DEAA with 百媚导航. Articulation Agreements are requested and signed by the following signing authorities only: Public School Board Officials for that public school district; Homeschool or PEP parent/administrator; or Private / Charter School administrator.

When can students participate?

Students are ELIGIBLE to participate in dual enrollment once their district leadership/ charter school/ private school / homeschool or PEP parent administrator has requested & signed an .

Public Schools are covered by district leadership.  As the Homeschool or PEP administrator, you must send a copy of the signed letter from your local superintendent (the district you registered in) stating that your homeschooling took place in their district and is in compliance with state law ane email document to dualenrollment@usf.edu 

When can students take courses?

Qualifying (GPA & Test scores) students are ELIGIBLE to take classes once they complete their application processes, and their counselor submits course approval FORM 2Deadlines for Spring are November 15th, and for Fall are June 15th. See table below.

                                                   REQUIREMENTS for STUDENTS

To be considered for dual enrollment at 百媚导航, students must be enrolled in a Florida public or nonpublic secondary school or in a homeschool and meet or exceed the following academic qualifications:  Both GPA and TESTING must be fulfilled.

  • Minimum 3.5 high school GPA (Homeschooled Students Exempt from GPA but must send high school or college course transcripts). Homeschool/PEP/Private schools must send High School transcript to dualenrollment@usf.edu.
  • Minimum scores on ONE of the following tests: Student can pass one of the disciplines to attend. Students can only take courses within the discipline which they pass.
  • TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
    • If math scores meet requirements, students can take math/natural sciences.  
    • If reading AND writing meet requirements, students can take communication, social science, English, and humanities level courses.

Accepted tests for Admission to Dual Enrollment:

  • SAT: 560 Critical Reading / 530 Math Request on test application for the testing company to send scores to 百媚导航 using school code 5828.  Unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu
  • ACT: 21 Reading / 21 Mathematics Request on test application for the testing company to send scores to 百媚导航 using school code 0761. Unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu.
  • PERT: 106 Reading AND 103 Writing,114 Math to take natural sciences, and 123 Math to take MAC 1105 or higher; email unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu (PERT is offered at State Colleges; ask your high school counselor). Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF.
  • PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 Regular: Reading (24), Writing/Language (25), Mathematics (24) Digital: Reading and Writing (490), Math (480)                                    Please login to College Board to see your scores-   Student Score Reports with the username and password (if you did not create a username and password you can create one).  Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF. Attach the PDF in the email and send to your counselor or if homeschool send to dualenrollment@usf.edu
  • CPT (Accuplacer): 256 Reading AND 253 Writing /and/or 250 AAF (Advanced Algebraic Function) OR 261 QSA (Qualitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics) (For 百媚导航 TAMPA testing center: Students must apply as Non-Degree Student. Bring U# and Photo I.D. day of testing.  sign in with username and password (if you did need to create username and password you can). Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF. Attach PDF to an email and send to your counselor or if homeschool send to dualenrollment@usf.edu) MUST have 百媚导航 U number for score look up.
  • CLT (Classic Learning Test): 38 Verbal + Writing (V+W) / 16 Quantitative (Q math) Minimum Total Score 54      Please go to their website for information. Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF. Send unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu 

REMOTE TESTING for Accuplacer:

  • Email 百媚导航 testing center, but you must apply first as dual enrollment non-degree student, activate your NET ID,  get your 百媚导航 U #, and email the testing center at uc-testing@usf.edu with the following information:  Full Name, 百媚导航 U Number, Date of Birth, Email, Tel.# AND dual enrollment status.  The days of operation are Mon., Thurs., Fri., & Sat.

                                                  REQUIREMENTS for COUNSELORS

OVERVIEW for STUDENTS: Meet requirements; Apply; Activate NET ID 3 days after applying (this sets up their 百媚导航 email); fill out FORM 1; meet with you to pick classes.

OVERVIEW for PUBLIC SCHOOL COUNSELORS: Make sure students meet requirements; pick classes and submit course approval FORM 2 per student per semester.  Attend a Teams training.

OVERVIEW for new PRIVATE SCHOOL COUNSELORS: Submit copies of transcripts and test scores to dualenrollment@usf.edu with the student's name and 百媚导航 U number. Submit course approval FORM 2 per student per semester.  Attend a Teams training.

OVERVIEW for HOMESCHOOL COUNSELORS: Submit copies of transcripts and test scores, and homeschool verification or PEP award letter to dualenrollment@usf.edu with the student's name and 百媚导航 U number.  Submit course approval FORM 2 per student per semester. Attend a Teams training.

APPLICATION DEADLINES (LINK TO FORMS)

On or before May 15 - Articulation agreements with school/district for fall and spring are due On or before November 1 - Articulation agreements with school/district for just spring are due

On or before June 1 - Online 鈥淣on-Degree鈥 Dual Enrollment Application for Fall Start (August) and Spring Start (January). And Counselors/ Parents / Students / Administrators submit Form 1 for each student annually.

On or before November 15 - Online 鈥淣on-Degree鈥 Dual Enrollment Application for Spring Start (January). And Counselors/ Parents / Students / Administrators submit Form 1 for "New Students."

February 1 through June 15 - Dual Enrollment Approval Form 2 for FALL ONLY (August) IS SUBMITTED for registration and course planning from all public high schools.

June 15 - All Dual Enrollment Approval Form 2 submissions are due for Fall (August) for Dual Enrollment 百媚导航 Online or 百媚导航 Campus Courses.

September 1 through November 15 - High School Campus Courses Approval Form 2 for SPRING ONLY (January) is due for registration and course planning from all public high schools.

November 15 - All Dual Enrollment Approval Form 2 submissions are due for SPRING (January) for Dual Enrollment 百媚导航 Online or 百媚导航 Campus Courses.

IMPORTANT: Students who do not have a counselor submitted Dual Enrollment Approval FORM 2 will be DROPPED after registration.

The following courses are not eligible for dual enrollment:

  • Courses of less than 3 credits (except for 1 credit labs)
  • Performing arts studios and physical education/sports classes
  • Reminder: ENC 1101, ENC 1102, ENC 2210, ENC 3246, ENC 3250 or any courses that require 百媚导航 Writes are not eligible, unless they are offered on a public high school campus, or the school or school district arranges to pay for the textbook "百媚导航 WRITES" for the student. 
    Students must have all prerequisites needed for the given class.  Transcripts, test scores, etc. can be used to show qualifications: Submit to dualenrollment@usf.edu 

百媚导航 establishes and renews articulation agreements annually.
In compliance with Statute 1007.271, 百媚导航 strives to submit its to the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) by August 1. 

Deadlines related to application, school approval, and course enrollment reflect the sequence required for these actions.

continued Eligibility

  • Students who maintain the minimum continuing eligibility standard and a post-secondary GPA of 2.0 or higher after accruing six (6) credit hours may be allowed to take up to eleven (11) credit hours per semester.
  • Students must earn at least a 鈥淐鈥 (2.0) in all dual enrollment courses.
  • Maintain a weighted 3.5 GPA on high school transcripts, including dual enrollment course grades.
  • Students who receive a 鈥淐-", 鈥淒鈥, 鈥淔鈥, or 鈥淲鈥 in any given 百媚导航 course will not be eligible for dual enrollment the subsequent fall or spring semester unless they have more than one course.
    WITHDRAWING: If students withdraws (W) from their 百媚导航 class and do not have another 百媚导航 dual enrollment class that semester, they must sit out the following semester.  Or if their GPA falls below a 2.0.  If a student withdraws after the Withdrawal period, the student will receive a (WF) as the penalty otherwise it will be a (W).  
    All students repeating a Dual Enrollment course, will repeat the course at their own expense even if for grade forgiveness. 
  • Student who have allowed 3 semesters go by without attending must re-apply as a NEW student. (Examples: If you applied in the Fall and never attended Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters, you must have a new application you are considered NEW, If you applied for Spring and did not attend Spring, Summer, or Fall You must re-apply as you are then considered NEW.
