
Utkarsh Misra
Utkarsh Misra, who graduates with a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the °ÙÃĵ¼º½ next month, has been awarded a prestigious Tau Beta Pi fellowship for 2024-25. , the oldest engineering honor society and second oldest collegiate honor society in the United States, awards financial support to full-time graduate students in the engineering profession.
Misra, who earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from °ÙÃĵ¼º½ in 2023, will begin his doctoral studies this summer in the electrical and computer engineering department at the University of Texas at Austin. He plans to focus on developing 2D material-based devices for advanced computing applications.
Throughout his time at °ÙÃĵ¼º½, Misra’s research centered on the thermal and electronic properties of nanomaterials and semiconductor nanodevices. His passion for research and global collaboration took him to pursue research projects in Germany and India, supported by the German Exchange Service (DAAD) Rise Fellowship 2022 and the Visiting Researcher Fellowship 2023.
In leadership roles at °ÙÃĵ¼º½, Misra served as the chair for the °ÙÃĵ¼º½ student branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and vice chair for the IEEE Eta Kappa Nu -Kappa Xi chapter. He also served as chair for the °ÙÃĵ¼º½ Undergraduate Research Society and social chair for the Florida Gamma chapter of Tau Beta Pi. Alongside his academic pursuits, he has been a member of the °ÙÃĵ¼º½ Men’s Rowing Club, competing in various local and national collegiate tournaments.
